ACU Invites You to MakerFest 2018

Abilene Christian University is hosting the 2018 Maker Fest at the ACU Maker Lab, this week, on Thursday, April 5, from 3pm to 7pm. They are inviting area STEM teacher and their families to come learn and get inspired. Maker Fest is their largest annual event of the year and this year is shaping up to be their biggest Maker Fest yet.  They'll have tool demonstrations, hands-on activities and project presentations that everyone will enjoy. Everything is FREE, including the popcorn. :-)

The Maker Lab is located in the same building on ACU's campus as the Library.

National Youth Science Camp Applications Now Available

Two talented graduating seniors will be selected to represent Texas at the 2018 National Youth Science Camp (NYSC).  Student delegates attend the STEM and outdoor adventure program, at no charge. Travel is included. The students also spend several days in Washington, DC. Applications are currently open. Applications will close on February 28, 2018 at 6:00pm EST. The dates of NYSC are planned for June 27 - July 21, 2018. Only students who can attend the entire session should plan to apply. Additional information is available at  http://apply.nysc.org .

AP Teacher Training Reimbursements Now Available

TEA will administer the Teacher Training Reimbursement (TTR) program for approved educator trainings that took place during the 2016-2017 school year. TEA will reimburse districts in an amount up to $400 for each approved AP/IB or Pre-AP/IB teacher training (one time per educator) to prepare them for instruction in the 2017-2018 school year.  The application for 2017 TTR available online.
