If you've heard Shawn talk about simulation in science, the nyou know hes a big fanboy for PhET, the online simulation website where all the science apps are inquiry-based and free. Many of them are now also HTML5 compliant, meaning they will work on pretty much all mobile devices.
Lately they made some changes to an app that Shawn recommends for working with unbalanced forces and acceleration. Here's what they said:
Inspired by some great teacher recommendations, we added new features to the "Net Force" screen of Forces and Motion: Basics.

- Use the new speedometer to show when the cart's speed is changing or not.
- Take advantage of longer travel, allowing more time for experimentation before one team wins.
- Make sense of the "win", as the pullers now stand up and the cart hits a new visible stopper.
