This is a reminder that the MD Cancer Center is still taking applications for their High School Summer Program:
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center offers a summer program to recent high school graduates. For seven weeks, participants will interact with School of Health Professions faculty five days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in state-of-the art School
of Health Professions facilities. The program offers hands-on experiences in college-level molecular, cellular, and microbiological laboratory techniques, as well as in-depth workshops in Medical Dosimetry, Radiation Therapy and Diagnostic Imaging.
If selected, participants will receive a scholarship for the seven-week period. This scholarship is meant solely to subsidize cost of living expenses for students so they may participate in the program. The scholarship is considered income and subject to all
applicable taxes and fees.
There are two steps for an applicant to be eligible for review:
1. Complete the application by Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017. Apply here in our Discover system: http://bit.ly/2iEiJ5I. No new applications will be allowed after this date.
2. Submit all paperwork. Once the application is complete, students must submit the available documents in Discover. Applicants will have until Thursday, Jan. 26, 2016 to submit all documents.
Applicants can visit the Application Tips (http://bit.ly/SHP-HS-Summer# tips) to make sure application and documents are acceptable.
