If you haven't used PhET simulations, then you're missing out on very powerful ways to explore concepts through models. Unlike most computer "animations" for science PhET's simulations are not a linear experience, and support student inquiry. They've been a favorite of ours for almost a decade, and it seems now they are getting some just received accolades
The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) has selected PhET as a winner of its 2017 WISE Awards, which recognize and promote innovative education initiatives around the world. PhET is among six WISE Awards winners this year, selected by a panel of experts from a group of 15 finalists and an initial pool of 257 applications from 76 countries.
