Texas OnCourse, a Tri-Agency initiative, has launched new resources for counselors and advisers, but also have tools to help students make college and career choices.

Texas OnCourse pools career and education resources in this single, organized, easy-to-navigate site. The tools made available here can be used individually as needed, like selecting apps from an app store. Or, they can be used in order by grade level.

The Texas OnCourse Academy, is a learning platform for college and career advising. Over 2500 educators from across the state contributed to the development of the TXOC Academy, in order to better prepare educators to advise any student for any postsecondary opportunity. NCWIT Award Nominations Open for Aspirations in Computing

The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) honors high school women who are active and interested in computing and technology, and encourages them to pursue their passions. This multi-tiered competition includes recognition at national and local levels, serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and all U.S. overseas military bases. Award for AiC recipients are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, and plans for post-secondary education. Citizen Science / Birdwatching comes to your own backyard.

The next Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is February 16–19. If your students have been observing birds at a bird feeder or on a walk, they may be interested in participating in a citizen science project to count birds during the GBBC.
